KAJA - summer camp 2011: five teams from Belarus, Germany, Lithuania, Russia and Poland presenting their boards

B 1. projects for the rehabilitation centre Braslaw

Social Design: Designing of the recreational area of the Special Education Facility Centre Braslaw / Design of play equipment for children
Here the product designers are challenged in dialogue with the special education students to revalue the leisure and play area of the rehabilitation center Braslaw with new projects. In the preparatory phase, therefore, exemplary projects are to be researched in the European Union and presented and compared with image support at the beginning of the creative workshop

the given situation: the children playroom of the rehabilitation centre

B 1.2 : architecture -projects

Architecture - Designs for the extension of the covered area of the courtyard / rest areas, play equipment
This is where the architecture students come in. It's about a hitherto uninviting area of the yard and gardens of the institution. The covered passage, the connection of two parts of the building, is to be designed as a leisure and relaxation area.

The children and adolescents of the facility also want non-visible retreat zones, play and gym equipment. Here, too, at the beginning of the workshop, the brainstorming phase should follow the method of the Future Workshop with the involvement of children and adolescents of the centre.

to be embelished with children- and youth-architecture : the covered passage between two building - parts

B 2 : workshops KAJA - Camp Kolesniki

B 2.1: "on the move" - all associations associated with the guiding idea of the meeting can be implemented as themes and design motifs for various workshops in the field of painting / sculpture / performance.

B 2.2  "free" workshops according to the ideas of the participating European young people. All teams from Georgia, Poland, Belarus and Germany are invited to develop an European workshop on the participation of young people from all four partner countries.

The camp area

C: theoretical workshops

Creative workshops should be accompanied by mutual informations, media presentations about the theoretical background of workshop-concepts and exemples of "good practise" not only in the homecountries / - regions of the participants, but alos in other european countries. Each team should lead one of the workshops, which will be presented in the evenings. First proposal: "procedure for the participation of the civil sector in the design of public space in Eastern and Western Europe"

D: national evenings

Four national evenings are on the agenda.  The teams from Georgia, Poland, Belarus and Germany are invited to cook for the others refering to the national/regional kitchen - culture. After a presentation about the own institute, own study works, art and youth-culture. Very very challenging: a theatre- and dance performance ! Finally a DVD , a concert or a movie. To avoid misunterstandings: a "national evening" is not a touristical advertisement event !

E: excusions and other free-time activities

Besides the visits during the transfer from Minsk to Braslaw there will be organized excursions by bus to Braslaw, for visiting the city and the market. Another trip will lead through the Braslaw - lakes national park. Look here: http://www.belarus.by/en/about-belarus/natural-history/braslavskiye-ozera

free time activities:
- swimming in the nearby lake Ukla
- alternative golfing
- soccer tournament
- campfire
- disco
- sauna

B 1.3 wall paintings

Wall - painting on basis of  ideas ,  drawings/ sketches of the children of the centre. Mural for the leisure area
A large wall at the choice of the participants and in coordination with the management should be painted in a colorful and varied manner together with the children and adolescents of the institution. In order to express the esteem of the disadvantaged children, children's designs should first be compiled in collage form - according to their own themes and motives - and then projected onto the wall on a large scale as a drawing template. Then the painting-process with the help of professional students, who then also secure the completion of the big picture.

B 1.4 open projects

after having visited the centre during May 2018, we expect, that the teamleaders will create another new concepts with their participants during the preparation period June - middle July 2018. And also the participants, after they got to know each other and get out their interest, will have the chance to develop new project-ideas

B 1.5 exhibition posters

One of the evalation - tasks at  home, after the camp till end of septmber 2018 will be the design of 1m x 1m exhition posters , one for each workshop - result = project-proposals . Other posters for the documentation of the meeting process should be added. So we hope for min. 20 poster -designs. After it is in the hands of the hosting partner KAJA - Ino Minsk to organize an exhbition in Braslaw, in co- operation with the national/regional partners like art Academy Minsk. THe exhibition should open the chance of a participation process to find out the projects, which should be proposed for the 1:1 - realizationduring a follow- up meeting, in co-operation with professional building-companies, artists, designers.
